Going beyond that, however, you will be faced with a wide selection of food and drinks, with everything from sal and paninis to freshly made sandwiches that both tantalise your taste buds and fill you up.
Beer and mussels at Somers Town Coffee House. This modern and peaceful British restaurant maintains a rich ethical core that sees it serving meals based only on sustainable ingredients in a super casual environment.
The food is equally inspired by Italian culture and cuisine, and you will find an array of wonderfully combined sandwiches and pastries with a complimentary wine, spirits and beer selection. The coffee's good though, and it's an unassuming, friendly place to decamp to one of their wooden booths with a newspaper and espresso.

Great Nepalese Small, inconspicuous but by no means generic is how many a Nepalese fan would describe this lovely little restaurant right beside Euston Station London. The menu at Xi'an restaurant Murger Han is quite opaque, featuring sketches of donkeys and mountains and cryptic references to 'special herbal sauce'. The toasted flatbre with stuffed minced pork or beef are great, and so are the murgers soups with beef. It's open from 7. This is not the most striking of restaurants you will find in the area.
For a special, go with the Biang Biang noodles. The wooden booths have a combination of vintage and homely feel to them and make for a great place to sit and unwind.
Look for couples
It's a hotel restaurant which is eeuston in the price and the presence of maps spread across the tables as tourists plot their day's sightseeing but the portions are hefty, the Full English is a winner and they've mastered the fine art of gooey egg yolks too. Go to Diwana for spectacular and really good-value panni pooris — we recommend ordering one of each, and the Dahi Vada pea fritters to go with them.
This pub, which sits in an old gatehouse which formerly housed part of the station, is nothing more than a bar cofcee grab a quick drink, or two… or more. In an old gatehouse opposite the station, the Euston Tap feels less like your friendly local and more a borderline-bar for the after-work drinkers.
For good pubs with a neighbourhood feel, though, the Somers Town side of Euston is the best bet. Once you get past all that, though, and dive into the meal, the roti canai flatbre with curry sauce are beyond excellent. Sal also available. For the adventurous there's ox tripe soup while the biangbiang noodles are an all-round favourite.
This coffee and snack shop specialises in homemade snacks, panini and sandwiches. It is also a great bet if what you seek is a more classic gastropub. There is also a second location in Mayfair.
